base token speculation is limited bc there’s no “best case scenario” most big tokens are uninspiring and it’s not clear that Coinbase actually wants to support this side of the ecosystem

Imo they do Pump defined & refined a style of trading that existed in many ways & places, turned it into a sol-shaping meta We can’t sit around and expect that attention just ‘turns’ to base. product will have to do that same work here

Once you've gained the attention through the product (i.e $clanker), how do you convert this into economic benefit? IMO this is where @coinbase & @barmstrong need to move fast in supporting their ecosystem. Attention is shortlived in crypto, imo $degen listing on Coinbase came too late didn't have much impact

$HIGHER also gained this attention through the launch of @aethernet but they didn't get enough support from @base or @coinbase . This lack of support feeds the stereotype that base is a fed chain, supporting mostly $aero, $swell $cbBTC .. @jessepollak says memes are key to base but they don't seem to walk the talk...

At this late stage of the market cycle, the overall @base meme market cap is less than 2 billion dollars. This seems to suggest that base or Coinbase aren't really focusing on this sector (meme) but they are perhaps virtue signaling for relevance within the retail crypto community?
