History of Android's Founding: 

Android's life began in October 2003, before smartphones became widespread. It was a few years after the introduction of the first iPhone and iOS. Android Inc. was founded in California, USA by its four founders, Rich Miner, Nick Caesar, Chris White, and Andy Rubin. At this time, Andy Rubin announced that their company would "develop smarter mobile devices that are more aware of their owner's location and preferences." Rubin revealed in his 2013 speech in Tokyo that the Android operating system was originally created to improve the operating system for digital cameras, but a few months later, Android Inc. changed its direction towards using the operating system in mobile phones.
