My prop got defeated, but honestly, it was incredible to read your responses and realize that many of you actually follow my work and care about my contributions to the community. This has been such an amazing ride, where I've had so much fun finding ways to interact, be part of things without being officially "in", just embracing the whole "stay weird" vibe, and so on. When I started making traits for Nouns in /noundry, it was purely for fun. I joined in to celebrate Noun o' Clock ( /noc ) in Pip's channel, and then I just kept going, especially with the summer trait round from @coralorca https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/641

The best part is seeing all your comments. Even the negative votes often came with constructive feedback, which I can work on. It's fascinating because while some found the prop too complex, others thought it was too simple—classic human taste differences. Honestly, I hadn’t really thought about the conceptual weight or community impact of adding the Abacus head. I’m not a mathematician, a historian, or an educator (well, maybe a bit of an educator). I could easily come up with fancy wording to make the trait sound profound or important for the collection, but that wouldn’t be real. Until now, I was just having fun, creating possibilities that I never imagined would even come close to becoming real Noun traits. https://wand.wtf/proposal/641

Now, thanks to your feedback and seeing what matters to each of you when considering adding a new head, I feel like it’s not impossible. Even though this prop was defeated, I’m hopeful that, with more effort and attention to your input, one of my heads might actually make it into the collection someday.

I've always struggled with putting a value on my work or deciding what recognition it deserves, so I usually leave that to others or take advice. To be honest, when I made the Abacus head, I was in the middle of doing at least one trait a day and just uploading them to Noundry Gallery. I've uploaded 123 traits so far. The real reason behind this prop? @pip showed interest. He approached me, told me he wanted to see the Abacus on-chain, and that's why I picked this one. @pip and @indexcard.eth helped me through the process, giving feedback before I made the prop, and they walked me through the entire journey—from candidate to be sponsored to become a proposal.

If I had to give a reason for choosing this head, it’s simply this: someone from the community supported me, showed interest, and gave me the confidence to put it forward. As an artist, I love creating, I love the Nouns collection, and I love imagining that I can make whatever heads I want, upload them to Noundry, and just play around. That’s what it’s about—playing Nouns!—and Noundry has given me that platform. Thanks a lot @pip

I’m super grateful to everyone who voted, both positively and negatively. The negative votes often came with clear feedback or positions on what was being asked, and that’s valuable. I invite you to visit my Noundry Gallery, give likes to the traits you enjoy, and share which ones you'd love to see added to the collection. I have my favorites, but after this experience, I’d love to have your input and support for the process, whether it’s for the Abacus or any other trait. I have others where I definitely have more to say than I did with the Abacus. https://gallery.noundry.wtf/profile/0x215db99298af65306a4c60bd3b7612d5f60b03d7
