Serious question — what makes a scenecoin's price go up? 

Yes, speculation, but the tipping mechanic (while great for adoption) will generally create downward pressure on prices, which creates some potential FUD. What pushes in the other direction?

Maybe this is obvious, but a scene will need to come up with some compelling #1s and/or #2s. Most aren’t promising anything for fear of being labeled a security. But I expect there are probably some people working on them. “This is just for fun” helps avoid regulators.
