ya you can, @smol did it but you need to start with a fresh MM

Why do you need the private key? could you not just use the seed phrase directly in MM?

I just pasted the seedphrase in on MetaMask on boarding screen. No need to go to BIP 39. works just fine and can connect to services like far dot quest
