i just made my first FID offer to #329673 to alert the owner 

i think FarMarket is one of the most interesting apps on farcaster as it highlights the core idea of a decentralized social protocol

back in the day wen we wanted to purchase social media accounts (twitter, instagram, pinterest, etc.), we had to rely on third party websites as middlemen but these websites were often untrustworthy, and a lot of ppl end up gettin scammed.

also trading social media accounts was technically illegal because users didnt actually own them. for example consider the @X twitter account when elon wanted it for the rebranding, he forced the original owner to change their handle so he could take it. he probably compensated them with some money, but it was ultimately a forced move.

one of many things why farcaster will win in the long term.

If someone new can just come in and buy a low FID i feel like it devalues the FID. They are not a real OG but are pretending to be.

Yea maybe, it's not something i personally would speculate on though. It's not like the FID is visible on the profile unless you go looking for it so unless we go around telling people our FID then noone really sees it or cares.
