Pretty easy. Look at cap tables of the ones that have "made it" already, particularly on their first 2-3 funding rounds. Reach out to those investors about becoming an LP in their next fund. They won't let you, but sometimes... they will :)

With bibs, you sort of get what you pay for; I'd use price as the proxy for chamois quality. Q36.5 is probably the best in the business right now, but $$$$. I personally think Rapha is cheap for how good they are

Started my first company in 2008 when the bottom fell out. Made it to raise, which forced us to find profitability. When VCs eventually came knocking, we didn't need them.
