rough time putting baby boy down tonight. we're t-minus ~22 days until baby #2 arrives, and he knows things are changing. we've been preparing him by talking and reading about it, but its an end of an era for us all. any parenting pro tips for easing that immediate transition phase after bringing home baby #2?

Never experienced this myself but friends had kids regress a bit during big life changes No advice other than it’s pretty normal and “this too shall pass”

Baby 2 come into the world with a special gift for baby 1. Teddy or something they like. A peace offering if you will. Good luck with the new arrival! 77 $DEGEN

Pre baby coming home, get a baby doll. Have them hold it, care for it but also get used to you holding something else other than him/her. When you bring new baby home, let your eldest touch, care and hold your new one early. Worked really well for our kids.

Like @adamz, I recommend giving the first child some time to get to know its new sibling. When the baby comes home, maybe the older one can have a bit of time alone with the baby, to see/smell/touch it? Often, the older child will naturally spend more time with dad in this phase, especially if the baby is breastfeeding. If possible, plan time for that. It's normal that older children fall back to old habits for some time. For example, maybe it wants to sleep in the parents bed again, or drink from a bottle that it had already abandoned. That's okay, no reason to worry. Hey... hope you all enjoy this exciting time!! Best wishes.

Honestly see how he responds after baby arrives. We didn't have regression until the 3 month mark and fizzled around month 11. Everyone is different
