my 1 year old is starting his daycare this week. for parents who've been down this road, what's the best piece of advice for the transition? any lessons you learned the hard way?

Big milestone for a new parent—congratulations! It’s different for everyone, but in our experience the transition was actually harder on us as parents than it was for our kid. Quality no-phone time with the kid before and after helps ease the transition a lot. The first week is the roughest. Once they make some friends and favorite teachers, things get much easier for everyone.
