Upcoming channel changes We're *previewing* some upcoming changes so people 1) can understand and 2) provide feedback. These changes are not launching yet. It will be a couple weeks. There will also be a bunch of communication to channel owners. After reading the entire doc, feel free to reply to with feedback or send me a DC. I've tried to answer a lot of common questions in the FAQ. https://warpcast.notion.site/Upcoming-channel-changes-1056a6c0c101800caee6ea8133f8f966

Really dont like it, for reasons: It impedes community growth and will drive away new users. Most people will not come back a second time if their day-one vibe is that everything is a gated community they're not allowed into. What is going to keep them coming back if not welcoming communities? It will drive away current users who can no longer participate in communities they enjoyed. How are we expecting them to stick around after being kicked out of their fav groups? Having to vet every member is an insane amount of responsibility and work for a big channel that wants to be mostly open. Even with a full team of mods, it'll take a lot of work to make it feel open again. I love that talented artists show up and use /cryptoart on their first day. I love discovering them via the recent feed. How am I supposed to discover talented new users going forward? This is going to hurt WC/FC adoption and retention of qDAUs.

> How are we expecting them to stick around after being kicked out of their fav groups? Why are they getting kicked out? The owner / mod is going to want to keep their community. If not, then maybe better to have a new community run by a better mod. Work either needs to be upfront or ongoing. It's less work upfront after the initial migration (which we will help make easy).

Oof. People have to be invited? That seems counter-growth.
