In 2022 Riot games caught flak when they posted about Killjoy (a character from Valorant) admiring artwork by @martinhoura. Fans of the game flipped. 

Why? 
Because the artwork was an NFT.

They backtracked saying they didn’t mean to suggest killjoy was into NFTs. 

Well killjoy.eth IS into NFTs and I dig the art.

yep its a fair point. And since blind rage is so popular nowadays, many of them will remain anti-NFTs for years to come even though those problems will have been solved.

Yeah unfortunately I think NFTs came onto gamers radar too early and so the value to them was unclear. They learned about NFTs and thought great, now I have to pay huge transaction fees just to buy an item, sign txs with a hardware wallet mid game and lose all my shit when I forget my seed phrase or get hacked.
