What's something you find confusing about Farcaster or Warpcast?

when a user pays for storage, are they paying for warpcast storage specifically? Or network-wide? Since casts are not on-chain, how are storage fees distributed or used?

Protocol. Storage paid once is available across all Farcaster apps.

Storage fees go to a protocol treasury. No plans for the fees quite yet.

follow-up question, how are images handled?

For Warpcast, we use Imgur because free and they handle compliance.

You can link to any URL ending in .jpg or .png

so i presume that warpcast for osx was also using imgur, and just allowed gifs in teh code? Is there another reason gifs didnt make it to the other platforms? Or am I missing something? Curious from a dev perspective 😅 not hasslin ya bout video again haha

GIFs should work? We just don't make it easy for people to add them.

GIFs and Video make performance bad on mobile. Requires some investment to get right. Our pov is it won't pull over enough DAU in the near term vs. other product bets.
