That battery's been going for a long time. Honestly I'm not much of a car guy, didn't even own one till my mid-thirties so your guess is as good as mine

Well the alternator was the original from 09 so it's time had come anyway. And the battery was looking like a sea monster with all that white and blue sediment

Ya probably because the alternator wasn’t charging it properly due to itself starting to go bad. Usually you can give the alternator a couple love taps with a wrench to get it going again.
