So because I got my MRI done at a private radiology clinic, I asked my orthopedic if his radiologist could provide a second opinion on the images

He said sure no problem

Then I get a bill for the radiologist, ok cool

I message them saying hey I haven’t received the radiologist report? 

They go, oh, yea it’s our protocol that you need an appointment with your Dr in order to go over the results

I told them, no thanks, just provide me with the radiologist report. Until then the bill will remain unpaid and disputed 👍

The biggest advice I can give you when dealing with healthcare system is to always remember that THEY work for YOU

Don’t accept the status quo just because they say. Demand exactly what you want and do it with conviction

Now maybe they really can’t release the report to me, fine. But I’m going to be a real pain in the ass to them to find out

Update. They folded quickly and said to contact the medical records dept

Did so. Medical records said I have to go in person to pick it up due to “patient privacy concerns”

Absolute bullshit still. So now escalating to the clinic manager because there’s no reason they can’t upload it to my patient chart that holds literally every one of my other medical records

The war wages on but so far I’m up 1-0
