šŸ§µ (1/11) Bringing Crypto Into the Real World "This is part 2 of a 4-part series on episode 11 @cooprecsprecs Podcast: Midnight Diner Recap with @ted. What do you do if you have a great idea and people dismiss it because they think itā€™s a scam? Even worse, they run screaming from it? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø tl;dr: Make it cool."

šŸ§µ (2/11) "Get enough of the cool people doing something and the rest will follow. But how do you get them? tl;dr: Bribe them for attention. If you want people to try something they have negative assumptions about, youā€™ll have to be compelling and tenacious. Freebies are great, but it only gets you so far."

šŸ§µ (3/11) "LA is the worst for getting people to attend a gig. Itā€™s hard to get someone on the west side to go downtown, and getting surfers to spend a school night in Hollywood is harder. Iā€™ve handed out hundreds of flyers for my bandā€™s gig at the Whiskyā€”people treat you like an alien šŸ˜…."

šŸ§µ (4/11) "So what do you do? Stack the deck in your favor: great location, killer entertainment, amazing music, free booze. The Midnight Diner events have done this brilliantly. Getting people there is one thing, but getting them a wallet and withholding booze until they get one? Genius. šŸ˜Ž"

šŸ§µ (5/11) "My favorite story is the guy with a huge Instagram following making it clear he had no time for this - ā€˜just give me the wristband already!ā€™ Coop Records didnā€™t budge, so he left with a wallet. That's the kind of tenacity that makes people re-think their assumptions. Thatā€™s how you turn skeptics into believers."

šŸ§µ (6/11) "Now that the Midnight Diner event series is creating FOMO and selling tickets, its memetic spread is linked to crypto. And thatā€™s literally making crypto cool. Itā€™s a social proof strategy: if you make it fun and exclusive, people will want inā€”regardless of their initial resistance."
