okeee, i did a thing. i staked. 🤷♂️ i'm not happy about it, but i'm at peace with it. or so i tell myself today. i staked what i earned last season. that degen came from the degen fam, and it somehow felt right to put it back into the community even if i disagree with the current state of things. i've been impressed with the way jacek and the degen team have been open to suggestions on how to improve the system, so hopefully they iterate quickly as usual. most importantly, they must find a way to address the number-go-down issue. the tipping game is a GAME and when people play games they like to go up the leaderboard, not stake a bunch of money and see their allowance go down every day. and that's the only direction it can go for 90 days! you don't need to have a masters in psychology to know that it is demoralizing to watch your allowance go down literally every day. but what to do?!? continued...

That’s fair - but also i think it’s reasonable to have a staking requirement i feel. Most large accounts that stood to have their degen allos reduced have been the ones benefiting the most to date from the degen ecosystem so if they are unwilling to reinvest at least some of that they have gained from it then do they really deserve that allo? More than someone willing to put their money where their mouth is? These accounts probably gained a lot of their status from having that degen to tip. Hearing them complain about it to me doesnt make sense. The number go down only is an issue tho for sure.

Please read the continued part. I don't advocate for getting rid of staking, even if i personally don't like it or think it's needed. I advocate for not getting rid of openrank. I think this solves a lot of problems. A 50/50 split would be nice. So your stake AND engagement matters And while you're right it's good for people to have skin in the game, they all owned a bunch of degen and weren't selling. Someone like bfg just hates staking. Going from only needing 10k and having a big allo to needing to stake 1m to have a smaller allo is rightfully so a tough pill to swallow. And telling the people who been grinding its all for nuffin is a kick in the nuts.

Sorry i didnt see the continued part…warpcast really needs to make threads happen. But totally fair enough for the OR/stake factor ratio to be up for debate and tweaked. Still don’t think that large accounts who probably owe a lot of their engagement and growth to their degen allowances should have any hesitancy giving back to the project even if “they don’t like staking”…when their engagement goes down without their large allo we’ll see what they think then. And sure there are people who got in the game when degen peaked at .06 and have been grinding since then and to ask them to buy more to keep their allo up is kinda meh but they may just have to wait a bit to get some more degen to stake…and hope OR plays a little more of a role with time.
