What is the greatest lie ever created? What is the most vicious obscenity ever perpetrated on mankind? Slavery? The Holocaust? Dictatorship? No. It's the tool with which all that wickedness is built: altruism.

I wish I could play Bioshock again for the first time.

Likewise. Infiniteโ€™s story was great, but Bioshock and Andrew Ryan make a perfect mockery of Randโ€™s heroes and that feels especially necessary now. Sure, we have the unctuous bureaucrats of Atlas Shruggedโ€ฆ but the titans of industry meant to save us are fascist losers? Tricky! lol

I read The Fountainhead in college and it was so depressing that I had to take a 6 week break from it halfway through. I'm always baffled by people who read Rand's work and think to themselves, "Yes, that is the world in which I want to live." At least in Bioshock, I could set things on fire.

we love the idea of meritocracies without realizing merit is good-faith and every rand hero acts in bad faith. true merit is healthy stuff; capitalist fuck-hards are justโ€ฆ toxic.
