Any MathAcademy fans out here? Just signed up after interviewing their data lead for CS Primer Show. Excited to maybe actually feel like I’m good at math again.

👋👋👋 hopped on it after seeing some of their dialogues re pedagogy and after getting trounced by a text on vectors and tensors. Doing the foundation sequence also :)

Getting out a piece of paper or two every night and doing math problems feels so relaxing oddly. I’m going to buy some Mead 3 subject notebooks next.

Hypothesis: hand-writing math grounds the abstract ops required more deeply and helps intuition? https://www.theguardian.com/news/2025/jan/21/signature-moves-are-we-losing-the-ability-to-write-by-hand

How’s your daily practice going. I did great week one. This week was worse. Gotta get on it again today. I’m finding it so relaxing honestly.

Pretty well tbh. Morning protocol during the week is basically read for an hour then do 40-60 mins of math. Sometimes that’s the same on weekends. Don’t think “relaxing” is the adjective I’d use 😂 it’s been a big boost to start days by 1) trying something consistently challenging and 2) get dopamine doses from overcoming said challenge. Starting to get some meta realisations about fluctuating state of my cognition per day too, which is nice. Functions as a proxy for recent lifestyle choices.
