Thinking about some of Waitzkin’s comments recently. There’s a segment where he categorises types of constraints encountered during performance. It roughly aligns with how I’ve been categorising my own difficulties whilst doing BJJ, climbing and math. Basically: - Physical - Technical - Psychological In difficult moments, I’ve been 1) trying to identify which type of constraint is impeding me and 2) experimenting with litanies to overcome them. A litany is a complex concept compressed down into a directive. Two I’ve been playing with are: - “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast” - “Relax to win” These kinda work but they don’t focus on one particular class of constraint. Wondering: does anyone have go-to litanies they’ve used or developed over time? https://open.spotify.com/episode/06nvqDXdnYJiJd16MSod8K
