I found a post on Threads that was ๐ค๐พโจ on point about the value of Playlist curation. I'm an avid curator alongside of being a music artist, so this sentiment & the stories shared were truly felt. https://www.threads.net/@thesoundmindtalks/post/DHTf16NKxnu?xmt=AQGz1Skujbild9c494_zhWpODweFE9YpiIxBgEH0DBNYzQ

Love this thread, thanks for sharing! Playlists are so powerful, it just sucks that weโve handed all that attention to Spotify, Apple, and YouTube. If onchain music catches on, I suspect making playlists will become even more fun. I like what spinamp.xyz is doing

Yeah there will be a lot of good that could come out of web3 immutability & provenance of playlist curation. The only thing is just figuring out which one of these platforms will actually last, and which ones will actually build something truly decentralized/immutable (I.e., not just receipt of creation on the blockchain with all data stored on an AWS server or something to that effect. Needs to be some kind of IPFS/Arweave type solution).

Yea, music has to be onchain if we want real transparency, something Spotify and the big players def donโt offer. But the crypto space hasnโt done a great job of explaining the setup to artists. Im not even sure IPFS or Arweave are the right chains to recommend/trust either. With regulations easing up, hopefully more devs will take a shot
