What are your overall sentiments of Telegram as a community engagement platform vs the other alternatives? (Discord, Slack, Geneva, Google Chat, etc.)

telegram is great for small communities. it’s one of the best apps on my phone. 

slack is trash for conversations (no message replies, annoying threads ux)

discord is too cluttered and spams you with notifications

geneva is not an app i’ve heard about

google chat ????????

And so if a community may have 1k+ (truthfully could be closer to 10k+) in the chat, maybe you wouldn’t choose Telegram then?

And as a side note, I did see @beb on here, and was wondering if that’s meant to be a similar tool replacement? 🧐

I should’ve known when I went to google that, I was going to see a shit show 😂😂

Ultimately I feel that the UX/UI aspect of various platforms also have to speak to the community that the platform is serving, so in that line of thinking…

I do believe Telegram has the closest user experience that would relate to our community.

i’ve used telegram with 1k group chats but they got segmented into smaller topical groups not to spam the main one. that was before they introduced native topics. with 10k members i would go back to phpBB lol
