Farcaster Verifications are coming soon

Verify your account by connecting two socials (X, Phone or GitHub) and holding $25 in your wallet. 

Verified accounts are less likely to get the spam label and show up higher in the feed, replies and search. 

They are necessary to earn weekly rewards and qualify for airdrops

Why are we doing this? 

There are many inauthentic accounts trying to farm airdrops and rewards. 

Completing verifications allows authentic accounts to stand out by proving things that are hard to fake, like having socials on other networks and holding a balance for a long period of time.

I don't have a problem with this.

If it keeps FC free from most of the Kaito madness and spam which has infested CT then having $25 idle seems like a small price to pay

I don't mind having the idle, but given what you write about keeping FC free of what has infested CT, then why the obsession with X as a means of verification. It signals that if you are infested with that madness, you are welcome here. That is not a good sign.

for better or worse, CT is still the crypto town hall (for now), in spite of there always being various forms of contagion running wild.  There are plenty of people who use both and plenty who don't enjoy the noise of Kaito etc.  You can't verify by reference to FC profiles for obvious reasons.

I didn't say it's the only way.

You might not like CT - and there is a lot not to like about it - but if you want to use a number of markers which don't have to dox the subject then this is one of a few ways of linking some users to a demonstrable track record of sensible and genuine posting (or otherwise).  It has absolutely nothing to do with importing the overall character of CT or otherwise.  FWIW there is still plenty of valuable content there, even though it's progressively harder to find.

To me, this is more than just ceypto. This ia a space where you can ho in depth and disagree  with respect. CT is mostly about ahouting hardest. Not sure why you think it's the only way to verify.
