Illegal Migrant Deported Before Standing Trial in Fatal Car Crash – NYP

⏺Erwin Rommel Recinos Zuniga, 28, who allegedly caused a crash that killed three people, was deported to Honduras before standing trial on charges of vehicular manslaughter, reckless driving, and other offenses.

⏺The crash occurred in Miami, Florida, in February 2022. Zuniga, reportedly driving a Kia Forte at speeds over 125 mph, crashed into a utility pole. Two of the five passengers were ejected from the vehicle, and three died at the scene.

⏺Zuniga was arrested and charged but had not faced trial due to unclear circumstances allowing him to remain under house arrest. On September 6, it was revealed that he had been deported to Honduras.

⏺The victims' families are outraged, and prosecutors stated they are working to bring Zuniga back to face justice.
