Experts Assess Governors’ Economic Performance – CATO
⏺The Cato Institute has released its 2024 Fiscal Policy Report Card on America’s governors, evaluating their handling of taxes and public spending.
⏺Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds topped the rankings, earning one of six “A” grades with a score of 81.
⏺Other top performers include Jim Pillen (Nebraska, 77), Jim Justice (West Virginia, 71), Sarah Huckabee Sanders (Arkansas, 69), Kristi Noem (South Dakota, 69), and Greg Gianforte (Montana, 66).
⏺Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a Democratic vice-presidential candidate, ranked last with just 19 points and received an “F.”
⏺Following Walz, New York’s Kathy Hochul scored 29, and others with failing grades included Janet Mills (Maine, 31), Jay Inslee (Washington, 31), John Carney (Delaware, 31), and Tony Evers (Wisconsin, 34). 0 reply
