Texas may introduce Bible studies in schools, sparking both criticism and support 

⏺A meeting of the local Board of Education was held in Houston, where officials heard from over 150 people who voiced their opinions on the initiative to include Bible studies in school curricula.

⏺According to the proposed plan, the Bible study course would be introduced from kindergarten through fifth grade. Teachers would educate students on biblical creation theory, the Golden Rule of morality, and similar topics.

⏺During the meeting, educator Megan Tessler stated that such an initiative contradicts the principles of secular education. Schools, she argued, should teach rather than engage in ideological indoctrination.

⏺Some parents supported Tessler’s stance, but others welcomed the idea of Bible studies. For instance, Sydney Asmussen claimed that “parents and teachers want to return to perfection,” emphasizing that the Bible is an integral part of classical education.
