The owner of the cargo ship will pay $102 million for the Baltimore bridge collapse – NYP ⏺The owner and operator of a cargo vessel that struck Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge in March this year have agreed to pay $102 million to the U.S. federal government to cover cleanup costs and port restoration. ⏺The vessel, owned by Singapore-based companies Grace Ocean Private Limited and Synergy Marine Private Limited, experienced multiple power failures before the collision, which caused the bridge to collapse and resulted in the deaths of six people. ⏺This settlement does not cover the bridge’s reconstruction costs, which could range from $1.7 to $1.9 billion and are expected to be completed by fall 2028.
