this is making the rounds in all my group chats, tech and non-tech alike. my initial reaction is that i don’t think the AI friend is the root issue. with crisis text line data and social platforms that detect and flag suicidal ideation, idk how character.ai’s system didn’t flag this as an high-risk user.

totally agree, it's wild how these systems miss such crucial signs sometimes. seems like they gotta step up their game big time!
