Correlation does not always equal causation. We actually have excellent healthcare in the US. Most of this can be attributed to overconsumption of processed foods, increasingly sedentary lifestyle, much higher reliance on automobiles (accidents and again, sedentary lifestyle) suicide, violence, drug overdoses/opioid crisis. So the quality of care we are able to provide is second to none. Access is an issue though due to insurance company policy and inneficiency

What explains the stark difference between the USA's healthcare spending and life expectancy compared to other countries?

Wouldn't a sick person spend more on healthcare? Someone young and healthy would not. So this chart is somewhat confusing in purpose and message. I'm NOT disputing that the government is corrupt and the care might have been bad. Only disputing the x and y axis presented here as the proof

Bro the graph shows a correlation between healthcare spending and life expectancy. The US spends more but has a lower life expectancy than other countries.
