Did you know that the performance indicator that can be trained by everyone at any age that reduces the likelihood of premature death and increases life expectancy more than anything else is VO2max? Train in zone 2 and we'll see you in a few decades celebrating your 100th birthday.

How do you split time between VO2max training (interval) and zone 2 training? How much does zone2 training impact you VO2max vs interval training?

You should train in Zone2 at least 60/70% of your training time.

I do 2x 30 minutes zone 2/week, and 2x 4x4 Norwegian protocol (for VO2max)/week. From 1st December till date, my VO2max (estimate on Apple Watch) has gone from 35.7 to 41.3.

I do not do Interval Training. I am not seeking performance but longevity. I do muscle building and zone 2.
