🐸 The British court finally denied James Howells the search for 7,500 BTC The British Court of Appeal rejected the claim of James Howells, who sought permission to search for a hard drive with 7,500 BTC in a Newport municipal landfill. The judges said that the case had "no real prospect of success." Howells now plans to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), claiming that the authorities violated his right to property and a fair trial. He stated that he intends to seek a retrial, "no matter how long it takes." The history of disk searches stretches back to 2013, when Howells accidentally threw away a drive with bitcoins. Since then, he has proposed various plans to the Newport authorities to search, sort the garbage and separate the found assets, but all attempts have been rejected. In February, he even announced that he was ready to buy the city's landfill if he was given a chance to dig.
