No that’s the wrong way to think of it. Old money wants to invest in everything same as new money. Alpha is alpha. Pension funds invest in VC and VC invests in crypto. The distinction is about social boundaries. Old money doesn’t want to socially mix with new. Even if it invests in it.

Really odd take. Silicon Valley is still new money. Don't believe the clickbait.
