No that’s the wrong way to think of it. Old money wants to invest in everything same as new money. Alpha is alpha. Pension funds invest in VC and VC invests in crypto. The distinction is about social boundaries. Old money doesn’t want to socially mix with new. Even if it invests in it.

Kinda. And values and culture conflicts in politics etc. Normally money takes a generation or two of inheritance to start acting old but in SV it’s started with first generation wealth. With og dotcom boom wealth acting “old” as it hits 50s/60s.
