I’ve finally figured out how to correctly label the axes in the political compass.

The x-axis is “motivation” and ranges from “collective interest” on the left to  “self interest” on the right.

The y-axis is “power dynamic” and ranges from “top down” at the top to “bottom up” at the bottom.

The problem with the political compass has always been that, while most of us intuitively know what we mean by a certain plotting on the map, the labels are all wrong. 

I think this is the best set of labels I’ve come up with or seen yet. Thoughts?
