Also it was technically not an exploit, but action per Flashbots protocol rules. The penalty for doing this kind of transaction was $2000 slash. Thanks, great explanation by Mudit (+ my memory of details was hazy from last year). I can see the proponents of “code is law” make the case that this was fair game & a clever yet legitimate use of the MEV design. I still wouldn’t have done it if I was in my 20s with a solid future ahead of me, too much grey area
