The problem with BRICS, especially China and Russia, is that they are not exactly countries innovating in anything. Innovation needs scientific progress and science needs critical thinking and freedom of press. China and Russia can optimise their production by whipping their citizens, more but hardly innovate.

This leaves us India and Brazil. Especially in India, developments like the RISC-V CPU architecture is in fire, which is true innovation that will one day affect everyday lives. However, India and Brazil alone are much smaller. And on two of these, India hates cryptocurrencies and wants to ban them.
