i had an awesome debate just now with a couple of folks i consider 🐐 onchain investors (they're on farcaster, btw)

crux of the debate was:

do you think Farcaster's growth to 1M DAU will be because of onchain dynamics (economic incentives)? or in spite of it?

i come down strongly on the side of "because of"

Because of. I’ve been on the receiving end of many airdrops. Farcaster seems to increase my surface area for engaging with things that’ll eventually reward me. 

“Free money” is an easy retention mechanism for the general pop. But less farming attached directly to FC so people just use it regularly.
