I'm thrilled to announce "Metta", launching as the first project on the groundbreaking platform @intrinsicdotart ! (minting 4/30/24) In Metta and on intrinsic, the traits are the ideas that empower the art, and it's the collectors who make each piece and can control the traits...

Metta is an exploration of the interconnected world. The patterns created reflect life’s intricate web, showing how individual entities form a cohesive whole. The animation brings these connections to life, illustrating the dynamic nature of relationships. a couple testnet frames:

Metta will mint 256 ERC-721 tokens on @base network, but there's a ton more to it! Before I get into that, here's some links: My site and writeup - https://matto.xyz/project/metta/ Metta on intrinsic - https://intrinsic.art/project/1 Essay on malleable genart - https://paragraph.xyz/@matto/malleable-generative-art

It's hard to explain just how different this project and http://intrinsic.art really are... For starters, when you mint, you don't get a completely random token, you select the traits (from those still available...) and generate a hash to see the result before minting.

Very, very interesting. Some of my first thoughts, maybe you have answers, why do the individual traits have different edition sizes? What if someone collects all editions of one trait - then no one else could actually assemble any of the generative tokens? Also why would you price a trait more than another?

Thank you sir, I really appreciate all you do for the generative art space and I'm honored you find this intriguing. I do have answers for your questions :) 1. Traits have different edition sizes to structure the output space and instill common/uncommon/rares in both the art/collection and in the trait tokens.

2. If one collected all 'Tri-X' trait of trait type 'Color Mode', no one else could create a Tri-X. If they collected all traits within the Color Mode type (256, the max collection size) no one else could mint a token. The former may happen! The latter could - but I think economics and pressures won't see it last.

3. All traits are priced the same in primary sale, but after mint, because the traits are actually owned by the collector, prices will differ in any secondary trait markets. They might follow simple supply and demand curves, but perhaps some less-rare traits are preferred, and then of course they may be priced higher.

Also, why DA for mint? Because the traits are limited and selectable at mint, someone could corner the market for a trait type much more easily than on other platforms, as you brought up. Typically, I really dislike DAs, but here I think a short and small-range DA makes a lot of sense as a way to address this.
