How do you answer the question “Where are you from?” As an immigrant who lived in a few countries I find it quite confusing. I assume that the person wants to quickly understand my language/cultural background, so go with “I’m originally from …, lived in A, B, C and now I live in X.”

I’ve only lived in two but always say where I was born (Mexico) and then may add that I grew up in the US.
