This photo captures me at 13, winning my first national competition against all odds. In a surfing world that wasn't built for girls like me—especially Black girls from Northeast Brazil—I fought through stereotypes, objectification, to stand on that podium. Today, I'm proud to be among Brazil's elite surfers, but this journey isn't just about my achievements. It's about creating a new reality where girls who look like me can see themselves represented at the highest levels of surfing. Through Projeto TPM, I'm transforming the lives of underprivileged children, showing them that surfing isn't just for those who fit a certain mold. Every wave I ride as a Gnars athlete carries this message of inclusion and possibility.
