I have to admit, in the last few years being full time web3, I’m really disappointed with how we have failed to produce meaningful projects that have gone mainstream. At most, featured articles in newspapers. But that’s it. Otherwise, it’s mainly insular projects servicing a dwindling or lackadaisical audience.

Mainstream doesn't care about whether the app is web3 or web2. What they do care about is if it solves a real problem for them. Unfortunately, beyond finance, there still don't seem to be any meaningful solutions people can interact with yet. Why there is no pmf yet beyond finance/infra deserves an essay.

➕ I think web3 folks forget that regular people don’t care about decentralization/autonomy/ownership as much as things being free and easy to use

Totally agree with this. Altho it’s interesting when it matters, right. Elon being a dictator. Reddit being nasty and weird. The studios and the writers strike. All instances where decentralization etc. probably would have helped.
