on the roadmap for @buttrfly. but one big challenge is that accounts registered on other apps can’t easily use warpcast, so that incentivizes sign ups to happen on warpcast. 

Another issue: ‘sign in with farcaster’ only works with warpcast.

to get most of the farcaster ecosystem, you need sign in with farcaster to use tools like automod or bouy, or clients like supercast or buttrfly, and more coming out every day
right now accounts registered using a self custody wallet (like @buttrfly) cant use any of those tools/apps. so it's a second class account imo

Why is sign in with farcaster needed? A new user probably doesn't know that they'd be missing SIWF given they're new.

importing the seed phrase into warpcast is not a viable solution in many cases. one example, the @buttrfly account is registered using a buttrfly self custody wallet that is used for other things too, so i'm not going to import that seed phrase into warpcast for security reasons. so i cant use it with warpcast.

You can import the seed phrase of the custody address into Warpcast and it'll work. We tested it out.
