I think most ppl agree it would be terrifying to hand someone your phone and say "sure, ask my chatgpt whatever you want about me!"

And yet we give all that data and knowledge to the companies like X and OpenAI without even questioning what they can do with all that insight about us....

WWW moves at an amazing pace forward. While we are still testing Web 3, there are already talks about next generation - Web4.

The main gap between Web3 and Web4 is AI. That is the factor driving the need for AI in general. While Web3 is decentralizing the Web2 and making it interactive - Web4 is adding a new layer of reality, where completely new technological advancements are required.

What I really like about Web4 vision is that it has a strong human-centric approach using NAEs (Native AI Entities). But it doesn't come without any challenges. This is where credentials and vAI (verifiable AI) comes to scene. Virtual reality creates a huge demand for tools that help with legal and ethics perspectives.

The thing is that the Web 4.0 term was created and communicated by the EU Commission, so the term might be just forced onto us without any need to sell it.

I'll be honest tho, I hate the idea of web 4.0

Web3 is already an industry specific term that normies don't care about. Trying to move to the next iteration already just renders the entire concept useless and a marketing tool. 

Web1: read
Web2: write
Web3: own

It's simple and digestible. Owning your data and having AI be a part of it fits in perfectly. 

I'll have to read the article still, but I can't shake the feeling that trying to sell "web4" will be harder than just forgetting the terms altogether and starting from scratch.
