Overheard a commercial for a medication while my roommate was watching TV. It said “don’t stop taking ___ unless your doctor tells you to” but this indirectly is already telling you to not stop taking said medication. Be aware of the subliminal messaging your brain is being trained to believe.

If the medication is for conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes, which require continuous use, using this type of advertising might not be problematic. The goal is to ensure patients don't stop taking their medication without consulting their doctor.

However, the advertisement should be clear and transparent to make sure patients understand the importance of adhering to their treatment and to avoid unethical use of subliminal messages.
