I like to pick up art by local artists if I can. Pottery or ceramics for the kitchen, things to hang on my wall, or, probably most often, jewelry and accessories I can wear. I am always on the hunt for large pendant necklaces since that's my style.

Nice! I look for mostly housewares - decor and things I'll use. Have started looking for art more often. This is after accumulating a ridiculously large shot glass collection that will last me several lifetimes.

Yeah, when I was younger and traveled more I used to do things like get coffee cups and shot glasses from everywhere I went. But I have so many now and I never really use them and other than having the name of the place, they weren't really local (probably made in China anyway)! I don't even really drink coffee anymore and I don't drink shots either. So, now, I look for other things that are actually made by people in the area and that I might actually use frequently, or that I want to look at on my wall every day, that don't necessarily have the place name on it them but I'll remember where I bought it and that will bring back memories.
