A friend gave me a bunch of cocoons about 5 years ago, so since then. We have a “harvesting” party over drinks with friends each fall where we peel open the paper straws where the bees lay their eggs to collect and clean the cocoons to store for the winter. It’s sort of weird but always a good time.

That sounds like a good time and something to look forward to. I gained a newfound appreciation for bees after I started gardening. I'm always happy to see them buzzing around when the weather warms.
