What’s the difference between an agent and a bot?

the irony is that ai agents have no agency at all. devs define their agency. ai agents is really just an umbrella term for a new programing paradigm that uses LLM as building blocks.

A bot fulfills a pre-defined task in a reliable and repeatable manner. 

An agent has much more autonomy to execute the task.
