If Zelensky is skeptical enough of any deal with Putin to make a stand during a press event & blow it up, why was he prepared to make a deal right before that? Why didn’t he settle this in the actual negotiations? Is he open to a deal or not?

His response isn’t wrong on the facts but you’re either going through with a deal or you’re not

I think the correct take is that Z may have made a tactical mistake but trump/vance behavior was shameful as well

Yeah I also don’t get why Vance then responded to his point about the diplomacy with why aren’t you more thankful and listening to our advice

Again like Zelensky’s point I think he is right on the facts, he should listen to the US since they’re supporting the effort. But why have that out right then? Maybe felt like they had to respond after his point. I just feel like I’m missing something in the exchange
