Giethoorn is a tiny village in the province of Overijssel in the east of the country. This charming place has no cars or roads at all, because Giethoorn is located on the water. Therefore, all movement here is done by boat. Due to its small size, the "Venice of the North", as this village is often called, is often crowded. The best way to have a good time in Giethoorn is to rent a boat and explore the city by moving along the canals. This way, you can stop wherever and whenever it suits you.
