Matsumoto Castle Matsumoto Castle is one of the few remaining authentic castles in Japan. Originally built in 1504, it was expanded to its current form in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Nicknamed Karasu-jo (Crow Castle), it is known for its beautiful black and white three-towered keep.
