Dunnottar Castle Scotland The most beautiful, though slightly gloomy ruins with a terrible history, are located on the top of a cliff with 50-meter rocky cliffs. The ruins of Dunnottar Castle look very impressive from the outside, and from the castle itself there are breathtaking views of the North Sea and the rocky coast with sandy beaches. The ruins of the castle are blown by the salty sea wind, and seagulls fly overhead. Visiting the castle is like a small adventure - to get into the gloomy ruins with a terrible history, you first need to go down a narrow path to the foot of the cliff, and then climb up a steep slope to the medieval gates, where a stern local girl will charge you 10 pounds for entry.
